A Celebration of Many Voices, One Message The 6th Annual Winter’s Light: An Evening of Interfaith Storytelling/Arts
Share in the spirit of the season and the message of light and love of many faiths at the 6th annual “Winter’s Light: An Evening of Interfaith Storytelling/Arts Saturday, December 19, 7:30 pm, in the sanctuary of Central Congregational United Church of Christ, CCUCC, 2676 Clairmont Road, Atlanta.
Storytelling performances will include nationally-known teller Betty Ann Wylie as well as spiritual leaders Rabbi Joshua Lesser and Imam Furqan Muhammad. Interfaith spoken word artist Jewel Howard will also perform. Performer Diane Duane and an ensemble of other dancers will share a movement piece created for this event. The program will also include a Wiccan circle lighting ritual.
Musical performances will include the Spiral of Sound Crystal Bowl Choir, and vocalists-composers Maureen Jenci-Shelton and Jill Hendrix as Cerulean Soul. The Paz Band as well as the Kids4Peace & the Big Kid and will perform.
Children representing many faiths, including the Firebirds from the UUCA (Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta) and youth representing the American Islamic Fellowship, will light a ceremonial candle and recite blessings from their respective faiths.
Suggested donation: $10/person.
Proceeds will benefit Kids4Peace ( kids4peaceatlanta.org ) and the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (www.arava.org ).
