At Roots & Wings Merino, we strive to create beautiful garments that keep your little ones warm and comfortable without compromising the earth that they are growing up on.
With this philosophy in mind, we are committed to using only the purest merino wool as the starting point of our ethical fashion journey.
We share a few of the different ways in which our merino is kind to the environment and therefore the most ethical choice you can make when shopping for your children, below:
BIODEGRADABLE
Merino wool takes only one year to decompose, as opposed to most synthetic materials, such as polyester, which takes up to 1000 years to degrade.
NATURAL
By now you know that the merino wool we use is 100% natural. Besides that, we also use natural materials in our packaging, where possible.
RENEWABLE
At the core of our good business journey is a commitment to making garments that are super gentle on your little ones' skins, as well as being kind to the environment. Our merino wool is grown on merino sheep On the South Island of New Zealand and shorn from their backs each year, replacing itself again every winter.
ETHICAL
Ethical practices are at the core of our business. You can read more about our commitment to sustainabilityhereandhere, and our journey to delivering the purest, high-quality productshere.
